Christopher Nolan's time-bending sci-fi has been the constant since lockdown began; the only major theatrical release to be unmoved and looked set to be the blockbuster to bring cinemas back this summer. But amid significant schedule shuffling from Warner Bros, it too has been moved from its planned release date. Fortunately, fans won't have to wait too much longer to see Tenet as its delay is the shortest so far as it is has been pushed back by only two weeks, to July 31. The decision to delay does mean that Disney's live-action Mulan will be the first major theatrical release to hit the big screen when cinemas hopefully reopen. Wonder Woman 1984, which was previously rescheduled to arrive in August, will now arrive October 2. Later in the year, moviegoers were expecting Godzilla Vs Kong, The Witches, and an untitled Tom & Jerry animation, but all three have been delayed and will no longer debut this year. Instead, they will arrive next year as Tom & Jerry heads to March 5, the monster mash-up moves to May 21, and Robert Zemeckis' adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Witches to an unconfirmed date in 2021. Another film affected by lockdown measures is the untitled fourth chapter of The Matrix franchise, which was expected in March 2021 but will now arrive in April 2022 after suffering severe production disruption.
