Mulan Delayed Indefinitely

Disney delays their live-action Mulan amid continued uncertainty about coronavirus

After Warner Bros further delayed Tenet due to growing uncertainty surrounding releasing major blockbusters during these current conditions, Disney has predictably followed suit with the sad news that the release of their live-action Mulan is on hold until further notice. There’s no new date or sign that it will be heading straight to Disney+, just remaining undated while Disney reconsiders the global theatrical release strategy. Quite possibly, like Tenet, Mulan may come to our shores before the US. Wes Anderson’s latest whimsical comedy The French Dispatch was also dropped from Disney’s release calendar and the rise in US coronavirus cases continues to have a significant impact on future films as the new Avatar sequels and Star Wars films have been set back an entire year. But the silver lining is that for now, many major Disney films are still remaining on the calendar and set for release this year including The New Mutants, The King’s Man, Death On The Nile, Black Widow, Pixar’s Soul, Free Guy, and West Side Story.
