Black Widow Delayed

Disney withdraw Black Widow as cinemas shut their doors

Scarlett Johansson’s solo outing was set to launch Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on May 1, but with cinemas closing their doors to stem the spread of coronavirus Disney has made the decision to delay the release indefinitely. The Amy Adams-led thriller Disney gained as part of the Fox acquisition has also been removed from the schedule with no new release date set for either film. Several other studios have similarly followed suit as Studiocanal’s Blithe Spirit, Sony’s Our Ladies, Universal’s Promising Young Woman, and Altitude’s Rocks have all shifted from their original release dates. With no end in sight, this is now a very troubling time for the cinema industry that will no doubt see many more films be delayed.
