We’ve been kept in the dark for some time, but now a trailer lands to spill the top secrets about the new project from the twisted mind behind Kick-Ass and Kingsman. Writer-director Matthew Vaughn returns with another tale from the world of crime-fighting and international espionage, but this time it’s even stranger than fiction. The razor-sharp, reality-bending plot follows Bryce Dallas Howards’ spy writer and her beloved cat Alfie, who find themselves caught in a trap when her stories start to come to life. Thrust into the very real and very dangerous world of espionage, she’s now part of the mission to unravel a global spy syndicate and encounters real-life agents portrayed by an ensemble cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Sofia Boutella, Samuel L. Jackson, and Henry Cavill as the world’s greatest spy from her novels, Argylle. It’s an incredible star-filled ensemble, in fact, even the cat is a celebrity as its played by the cat belonging to Vaughn’s wife and supermodel, Claudia Schiffer. Everything about this project suggests audiences are in for the wildest ride yet from Matthew Vaughn, buckle up as the line between reality and fiction blurs in cinemas February 1.
