Matthew Vaughn returns to the genre he near perfected with Kingsman for a more outrageous spy thriller that takes an even more novel approach to all things Bond and where everything is stranger than fiction.

Bryce Dallas Howard heads up an insane ensemble cast, starring as Elly Conway, a writer who’s unexpectedly swept up in the contents of her own subject matter.

So good are Elly’s spy novels that she swiftly becomes at risk of being terminated by a sinister terrorist syndicate operating underground. That is, until she’s rescued and recruited by a real-life undercover agent, played by Sam Rockwell, with her cute cat Alfie along for a wild ride.

Argylle touts one of the most stacked casts we’ve seen in a comedy-thriller, with A-listers included both in and outside the reality of Elly’s books. Henry Cavill, for instance, portrays the titular agent Argylle, with Dua Lipa as his muse and John Cena, Bryan Cranston, and Samuel L. Jackson in on the action. Even Elly’s cat Alfie has celebrity status – played by Chip, the real-life cat of supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

Such a high level of talent all but ensures Argylle has a real license to thrill.
