Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve introduces the first of three short films that he commissioned to bridge the gap between the events of the 1982 film and his hotly-anticipated sequel. Directed by Ridley Scott’s son, Luke, and featuring a first real glimpse at Jared Leto’s fantastically robotic performance as Niander Wallace, 2036: Nexus Dawn sees the replicant creator revealing his new series of replicants with hopes of repealing the replicant prohibition that’s been enacted for thirteen years.
