The young American singer and actress takes the role of Ariel in the live-action reimagining of the Oscar-winning animated musical from Rob Marshall, the visionary filmmaker of Chicago, Memoirs Of A Geisha, and Mary Poppins Returns. Bailey’s beauty, spirit, and angelic singing voice, in a role she seems to have been born to play, is again the focus, but this time accompanied by even more beautiful footage from the film that retells one of Disney’s tales as old as time and brings it to the big screen like never before. The first full trailer for the film dives deeper below the surface to share more thrilling footage of the colourful undersea world come to life and tease us with glimpses of the beautiful young mermaid, her fascination with the human world above, her meet-cute with Prince Eric, her rift with her father King Triton, and encounter with evil sea with Ursula. It also brings our best look, and listen, to the star-studded cast that includes Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Javier Bardem and King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Disney’s The Little Mermaid comes to life in cinemas May 26.
