Gal Gadot goes toe to toe with Kristen Wiig in the all-action main trailer for the Wonder Woman sequel
The new Wonder Woman 1984 trailer that Warner Bros debuted during the DC FanDome event over the weekend gives us a better look at Gal Gadot in her new golden armour and our first real look at her new enemy, The Cheetah. The first trailer arrived way back in December last year and revealed that Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman was taking a time jump to the 1980s where she would reunite with Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor and face off against Pedro Pascal’s villainous businessman Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva aka The Cheetah. But we never saw what The Cheetah actually looked like, until now! The action-packed trailer begins with a flashback to young Diana on Themyscira before leaping forward in time to the eighties where Wonder Woman battles Barbara, a seemingly ordinary woman who has somehow evolved into a cat-like creature with fur, tail, and claws. But it’s not just epic action set pieces and superb special effects on show, there’s also flashes of the same humour that made the first Wonder Woman so enjoyable, particularly more of the great chemistry between Diana and her miraculously reunited love Steve Trevor.
