New York is gripped by a series of grisly, unexplained murders.

Chris Rock’s cocky detective “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner Will (Max Minghella) begin their investigation under the watchful eye of an esteemed police veteran played by Samuel L. Jackson. As the bodies begin to pile up, they realise that all the killings are linked, and so are the victims. Things take an even more sinister turn when they discover the killer’s signature at the crime scene: a spiral that summons morbid memories of the city’s gruesome past. It’s the same pattern painted on the cheeks of the creepy puppet that belonged to the famous Jigsaw Killer. But with John Kramer long dead, the trio find themselves at the centre of a new game as they search for whoever is pulling the strings.

Chris Rock isn’t just the star of Spiral, he’s also the brains behind the entire project. A long-time fan of the films, the famed funny man is also the producer and teams up with returning Saw II, III, and IV director Darren Lynn Bousman to take the franchise in an exciting new direction.

Expect a thrilling mystery, terrifying traps, and a twisted sense of humour when this all-new version of cinema’s deadliest game begins.

Traps To Die For

In anticipation of the ninth chapter of the Saw franchise, we remember some of the franchise’s most devilish death traps.

The Reverse Bear Trap

A medieval device hooks directly to the upper and lower jaw leaving its wearer tick-tocking towards a permanent face lift.

The Shotgun Carousel

Bringing a menacing new meaning to riding shotgun, six people are spinning on a not-so-merry-go-round while one chooses the two who will make it off alive.

The Venus Fly Trap

With two halves of an iron maiden-like death mask around the neck and only a mirror and scalpel to hand, the victim must free themselves before it slams shut. Worst of all, the key to survival is, quite literally, within.
