Harley Quinn tries to make it on her own in the first-look at Birds Of Prey
Margot Robbie returns to her role as Harley Quinn for a film where the famous DC sidekick takes centre stage. We catch up with DC’s demented dame in the fallout from Suicide Squad where she’s so fed up of a life spent in the shadows as a support act that she splits from the Joker and grabs the spotlight to go in search of a fresh start. But, as the trailer reveals, she soon discovers that she’s not the only girl in Gotham seeking emancipation from a troubled life. She assembles a ragtag group of femme fatales looking to fight back that includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. The trailer gives footage of the action the ensues as the Birds Of Prey take flight and bringing terror and mayhem to Gotham’s criminal underworld, but reveals very little regarding the plot. All we do know is that the tale hinges on a diamond belonging to notorious Batman villain Roman Sionis aka Black Mask who is brought to the screen by a maniacal Ewan McGregor.
