I Swear tells the extraordinary life story of notable Tourette syndrome campaigner, John Davidson, MBE. As brought to the public's attention in the seminal BBC documentary John's Not Mad, this new feel-good film charts John's Tourette's diagnosis at the age of fifteen. Set within 1980s Britain, it follows John throughout his troubled teens and early adulthood, and explores this little known and entirely misunderstood condition, along with his attempts to live a "conventional" life against the odds. Written and directed by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Kirk Jones, the emotionally engaging, funny, and compelling film stars Robert Aramayo in a powerhouse lead performance as the notable campaigner John Davidson who in 2019 was awarded an MBE in recognition of his life's work. He's joined by a stellar British support cast that includes three-time BAFTA-nominee Maxine Peake, BAFTA-winner Shirley Henderson, and Cannes Best Actor & Golden Lion winner Peter Mullan.
