Pop Cakes. Toffee Shocks. Google Buns. Just a taste of the whimsical delights awaiting young Beth, Joe, and Fran Thompson – and you – in a fantastical family adventure from Simon Farnaby, the writer of Wonka and the Paddington sequels.

After relocating to the countryside, the children finally discover fun away from devices and Wi-Fi when they climb a magical tree in a nearby wood and explore dreamy, ever-changing worlds waiting at the top.

As Enid Blyton’s pure imagination bursts onto the big screen, a parade of beloved characters springs to life. Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy star as parents Tim and Polly Thompson, with Jennifer Saunders as Grandma. As for the magical, Nicola Coughlan delights as quirky fairy Silky, welcoming the children to
the tree and its eccentric residents: Nonso Anozie’s Moonface, Dustin Demri-Burns’ Saucepan Man, Oliver Chris’ Mr Watzisname, Jessica Gunning’s Dame Washalot, and Mark Heap’s Mr Oom Boom Boom.

Their magnificent adventures together sweep them through wondrous places, from the Land  of Dreams to the Land of Know-Alls where Sirs Michael Palin, Simon Russell Beale, and Lenny Henry portray magical beings. There’s not a bad one among them… well, apart from the Land of Dame Snap!

Buckle up and pray you don’t end up there as you set off toward whichever land awaits atop The Magic Faraway Tree…

Faraway Folk

Silky

Bridgerton and Derry Girls breakout star Nicola Coughlan plays the beautiful, kind‑hearted, silken‑haired woodland fairy who guides the children up the ladder and into the amazingly absurd lands above.

Moonface

Nonso Anozie brings warmth and mischief as the fun-loving, imaginative, and cheeky magical creature with hair as white as a crescent moon.

Saucepan Man

Forever clattering and delightfully chaotic, Dustin Demri-Burns’ weirdly wonderful being is a little hard of hearing thanks to the pots and pans he wears all over himself.

Dame Snap

In the Land of Dame Snap, naughty pixies are taught better behaviour under strict rule. Rebecca Ferguson relishes her role as a cruel headmistress even more wicked than Miss Trunchbull.
