Sixty-four years before the events of Katniss Everdeen, this all-new adventure follows another strong young woman from a different chapter in Panem’s history.

Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler, is reaped as District 12’s tribute for the tenth annual Hunger Games. But this year, the Games will be unlike any before it as, for the very first time, competitors are trained for a battle that’s no longer only about survival, but spectacle.

Before becoming the tyrant of Panem we know today, an eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Tom Blyth, is selected to mentor the tributes to ready them for the grand televised event. Through this he meets Lucy and the two begin to fall for one another while the doomsday clock of the beginning of the Games looms over them.

Returning to direct his fourth film in the franchise, Francis Lawrence helms from a script by Catching Fire’s Michael Arndt, Assassin’s Creed’s Michael Lesslie, and the creator of the Hunger Games Suzanne Collins! This dedicated team ensures a faithful and thrilling journey from start to end, one that turns back the block to expand the mythology, reveal previously unseen parts of Panem, and bring more rich history not only of the likes of Snow and Katniss, but to the very Games themselves. Let the games begin...
