Life Is Messy
The Cat In The Hat is back! Mischief, magic, and mayhem follow him wherever he goes, and his mostest adventure of all is about to begin.
Words Hannah Taylor
Dr Seuss’s famous feline makes his highly anticipated return to the big screen, like never before! The talkative, towering, trouble-making black-and-white Cat is again up to no good… this time voiced by funny man Bill Hader in a mischievous, madcap adventure that hurls him into his biggest, toughest, most fearsome challenge yet.
The Cat might just be on the last of his nine lives at the I.I.I.I. – the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC. To keep his stripes, he must prove that his next assignment won’t end in disaster. His mission: bring big smiles to siblings Gabby and Sebastian, who are struggling to settle into their new home. They want their old lives back – The Cat has just the THING.
With the Go Backer, he whisks them through their fondest memories, while reminding them that the secret to happiness is making new ones, embracing change, and having “lots of good fun that is funny!”
Dr Seuss’s imagination comes alive in vibrant animation, with famous voices popping up along the way – including Barbie’s America Ferrera, Giancarlo Esposito, and the unmistakeable Matt Berry as The Fish.
SomeTHING big is happening on the big screen.
Seuss Onscreen
Theodor Giesel aka Dr Seuss brought The Cat In The Hat to the world in 1957, and his timeless children’s stories have since leapt from page to screen in both live-action and animation. Mike Myers’ The Cat In The Hat, joined by Thing One and Thing Two, land in the whimsical town of Anville where The Cat attempts to brighten two children’s rainy day in a chaotic adventure that changes them forever. Following Jim Carrey’s iconic turn as The Grinch in a festive favourite, Benedict Cumberbatch later voiced the miserable “green with envy” inhabitant of Whoville, whose frosty heart thaws and grows three sizes when young Cindy Lou helps him see the magic of Christmas.
