Jessie Buckley isn’t just stirring hearts in Hamnet this year – she’s hooking up with Christian Bale for a wild, electrifying take on the Frankenstein story. Sparks fly in a trailer crackling with chemistry as the pair are introduced as a couple who are, quite literally, made for each other. Bale takes the role of the iconic Monster, a figure whose legacy speaks for itself, but it’s an even darker story for Buckley’s Bride of Frankenstein – though she’s quick to insist she simply goes by The Bride! A murder victim resurrected to be his companion, she joins the Monster as a partner in crime, delivering their brand of justice to what they see as a cruel world. They’re a killer couple, but there’s plenty of support as Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, Penélope Cruz complete an cast that’s to die for. The Bride! storms into cinemas March 6.
