This nightmare is ripped straight from the brain of Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger, a ferocious fan of the Capcom classics hell-bent on bringing that pure survival-horror dread to the big screen like never before. If you’ve seen either of his films, you already know you’re about to see something deeply, deliciously unsettling.

As for the menu – sorry, cast – Weapons and The Walking Dead alum Austin Abrams leads as an unlucky courier on a routine drop-off to Raccoon City, only to discover something far more sinister than he signed up for. Kali Reis, Zach Cherry, and Paul Walter Hauser round out a lineup that’s undeniably exciting for us… and, unfortunately, downright mouth-watering for whatever’s lurking in the dark. Tasty.

Deep inside the quarantine zone, with each horror more grotesque and terrifying than the last, the real question is who – if anyone – will make it out alive?

The concept of a classroom where all but one child seemingly vanishes is scary enough. But as the grief and blame threatens to tear the town apart, in walks Aunt Gladys – Amy Madigan in an unforgettable, Oscar-winning role. Things take an even darker turner and, to be honest, we’re not sure we’re ready to write about them. Just watch it.
