Words Aaron Potter

Almost ten years after they first set foot in the jungle, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan are all back for their third and final Jumanji adventure. Only this time, the jungle is coming to them!

With all the animal and safari antics breaking free of the videogame console they belong to, all-new stakes are brought to the ensuing comedic chaos as the cast’s avatars are caught running around the real world in demo mode. It results in a true “open world” adventure: a wild collision between the franchise’s origins and its modern reinvention.

Jake Kasdan returns to the director’s seat to complete his trilogy alongside an ensemble featuring favourites he’s gathered along the way, including Alex Wolff, Awkwafina, Rhys Darby, Nick Jonas, and Danny DeVito. Adding to the madness is the continued body-swapping fun that sees the headline group of Hollywood A-listers test and extend their acting chops even further.

If this really is the end, they’re going out with a bang: car chases, highway mayhem, and jungle pandemonium erupting on a scale the series has never dared before. This isn’t a game anymore!

Players, Ready!

Dr Bravestone

Dwayne Johnson’s smouldering adventurer was the obvious choice for Alex Wolff’s Spencer. In The Next Level, his Grandpa Eddie – played by Danny DeVito – accidentally took over. In Open World, his mum Janice is in charge.

Franklin “Mouse” Finbar

Fridge landed in the shoes of Kevin Hart’s pint-sized zoologist first, before Danny Glover’s Milo borrowed the avatar. This time, Mouse is played by Spencer’s younger brother, Tyson.

Professor Shelly Oberon

Imagine how Bethany felt when she became Jack Black’s middle-aged map-master! Now, family friend and chef Donatas is suddenly responsible for survival.

Ruby Roundhouse

Martha found her inner warrior as Karen Gillan’s kick-ass heroine. That means this round, Spencer has big boots to fill, new skills to learn, and a family to keep safe.
