28 Days Later. Slumdog Millionaire. Trainspotting. Danny Boyle has made a few headlines over his career with films that have defined the past few decades – and now he’s turning his lens on the world of news itself with an explosive new drama. The trailer for Ink is hot off the press and whisks us back to the late sixties to chart the origins of news as we know it today. Jack O’Connell plays brash, Yorkshire-born editor Larry Lamb, hired by Australian businessmen Rupert Murdoch – portrayed by Guy Pearce – to reinvent a failing Sun newspaper with a bold, rule-breaking new voice. James Graham, the multi-Olivier-Award-winning playwright and screenwriter behind Dear England, adapts his own Tony-nominated stage hit for the screen, joining forces with Boyle and a stellar cast that’s completed by Claire Foy. Read all about it when Ink hits cinemas January 8.
