It’s been known for some time now that Jason Momoa would be joining the Fast franchise for its epic two-part finale, but it wasn’t entirely clear just how the megastar would fit into the story. Now, the fresh look at the first part of the epic finale reveals all and sets his character up as the most lethal adversary Dom and the crew have ever faced. Taking us all the way back to 2011 and the infamous Fast Five scene – as Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto, Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, and the rest of the crew take down a nefarious drug kingpin by stealing an entire bank vault and towing it across the city – the trailer reveals that the drug lord’s son Dante was there to witness it all and, now, he wants revenge. Stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, Jason Momoa’s Dante is hell bent on destroying the one thing the entire world knows Dom loves most: his family. It’s Dom’s eight-year-old son who’s the main target, so the entire crew must step up to save him in an epic adventure that, from street races to grand globe-trotting set pieces, is set to be the most fast and furious yet. Fast X brings the full roster of franchise favourites back to their roles as those who are good, those who are bad, and those who blur the lines between both. Vin Diesel is joined by Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. But that’s not all, amid all of the action and spectacle, there’s also room to fit in two more newcomers as West Side Story’s Rita Moreno and Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson join the chaos. The end of the road begins in cinemas May 19.
