The Skywalker saga officially comes to a close this December, with the final clash between Kylo and Rey bringing old enemies back to the fore.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away the thought that we’d ever get more big-screen Star Wars entries seemed like a sheer impossibility. Seven years after Disney swooped up the rights to George Lucas’ universe, however, we now find ourselves at the precipice of a story over forty years in the making.
Episode IX sees what’s left of The Resistance recuperate following the events of The Last Jedi. The First Order now vastly outnumber those willing to make a stand, and with both Han and Luke gone, the onus to make things right falls to Rey, Finn, and Poe. The Rise Of Skywalker will be the ultimate test of patience and earnestness for our heroic trio, as enemies long since thought dead make a return.
But how does The Emperor’s comeback feed into Kylo Ren’s spiralled downfall and is his chance of redemption really gone for good? All these questions and more will be answered as The Force Awakens alumni J.J. Abrams returns to the director’s chair to end his trilogy. Expect epic lightsaber duels, thrilling space battles, and the end of an era in the concluding chapter of the Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7
Dave Filoni’s fan-favourite Clone Wars series will arrive in February to tie up all the loose ends left untethered when Disney originally acquired Star Wars in 2012. It was one of the few Lucas-era properties to stay cannon alongside the movies, finally becoming complete with this final season.
The Mandalorian
The first-ever live-action Star Wars show centres on a lowly bounty hunter hailing from the planet of Mandalore. Arriving day and date with Disney’s new streaming service, Disney +, it’s pitched as a space-set western, with Pedro Pascal’s titular character described as “Clint Eastwood-esque”.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
This year’s D23 conference finally announced that Ewan McGregor would be reprising his role from Episodes I-III as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Taking place in the gap between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, the series is yet to have an official title but will debut some time in 2021.
