A tantalising teaser reveals the Episode IX title as The Rise Of Skywalker
The Rise Of Skywalker is a deliberately provocative title that conjures all sorts of questions, but we're typically kept in the dark by a trailer that brings us just footage from the final film in the Skywalker saga. Forty-two years of storytelling is coming to a close, so it's fitting for Rey, the hero to a new generation of fans, open the trailer with her lightsaber in hand and staring down a First Order fighter. Guided by Luke Skywalker’s voice, she leaps into attack. The teaser also shows glimpses of Kylo Ren cutting down foes, Billy Dee William’s Lando Calrissian back at the helm of the Falcon, Carrie Fisher’s final appearance as Leia Organa, as well as Finn, Poem, and the fan-favourite droids. But the most dramatic reveal comes at the trailer’s close as the familiar cackling of Emperor Palpatine appears as the title appears.
