The devastating destruction and monster vs robots battles in Gullermo del Toro’s 2013 film were only the beginning, in 2018 the killer Kaiju are coming back, to destroy humanity again. The debut poster and trailer for the city-stomping sequel promises a film that’s even bigger than the gargantuan original and introduces us to our new hero, played by John Boyega. The Star Wars lead stars as promising Jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost who is following in his legendary, apocalypse-cancelling father’s footsteps to lead a brand new generation of pilots in a fight to rid the world of Kaiju for once and for all.
