Tracee Ellis Ross, of ABC’s black-ish, and The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiana, have today announced the nominees for the 91st Academy Awards.

Olivia Colman's The Favourite and Netflix-released Roma are tied for most nominations with ten each, including both for Best Picture, Actress In A Leading Role, Actress In A Supporting Role, and Yorgos Lanthimos and Alfonso Cuarón both competing for Best Director. Olivia Colman is the strong favourite for her performance as Queen Anne but she’s facing strong competition in a category that also includes Lady Gaga for A Star Is Born, Melissa McCarthy for Can You Ever Forgive Me?, and Glenn Close for The Wife.

Other multiple nominees include A Star Is Born and Vice with eight,  Black Panther with seven (including Best Picture!), BlacKkKlansman with five, and four for Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody; with Rami Malek the favourite to be the champion of a strong Actor In A Leading Role category for his incredible portrayal of Freddie Mercury.
