After a gritty retelling of the Dunkirk evacuation, the peerless director takes us west to the USA where the Manhattan Project is underway. Five years after the epic events on air, land, and sea, a team of American scientists are developing a new weapon for war. Among them is J. Robert Oppenheimer, a tortured theoretical physicist who’s struggling to reconcile what he must create.

Cillian Murphy reunites with The Dark Knight director to star as the man who infamously unlocked the power of the atomic bomb, the thing that had the potential to put an end to war, and life as we know it. No matter the outcome, the world would never be the same.

Emily Blunt takes the role of Oppenheimer’s wife, Kitty, with Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Gary Oldman, and Alden Ehrenreich portraying key figures from this pivotal chapter in human history. Kenneth Branagh, Rami Malek, and Dane DeHaan also star in a stellar ensemble.

This might not be a typical time-bending adventure of science fiction akin to Inception, Interstellar, and Tenet, but expect the spectacular from this incredible retelling of one of the greatest breakthroughs in theoretical science. Prepare yourself to follow in Oppenheimer’s footsteps and observe the very first detonation of a plutonium bomb, recreated with practical effects that are sure to blow you away.

Taking It To The MAX!

Nolan’s continued partnership with cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema has led to some special moments onscreen, but a technical breakthrough of their own might cement his legacy as a champion of film and lead to a revolution in modern cinema. For his latest film of epic scale and scope, Nolan wanted to intertwine colour scenes and black-and-white sequences as a nod to the narrative devices in his breakthrough films Following and Memento. Together with Kodak, they have created the world’s first monochrome IMAX camera, especially for Oppenheimer. This will be cinema’s first ever film shot in the IMAX format in black and white and a big-screen experience like no other.
