The legendary actor sets his sights on awards season glory as he takes the starring role in the true story of Richard Williams, the father, mentor, and coach who dreamed of forging a successful future for his family. The trailer introduces Richard as an ambitious, driven, and loving family man and chronicles the true story of how he guided his daughters on a life-changing journey that took them from the dangerous streets of Compton, California all the way to the global stage where they shone as two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time, and changed tennis forever. The stirring trailer serves up some inspirational and moving scenes as well as introducing the support cast who join Smith. Godfather Of Harlem’s Demi Singleton and Hidden Figures and Fences’ Saniyaa Sidney star as the Williams sisters Serena and Venus respectively, while Aunjanue Ellis takes the role as their mother Brandi. Tony Goldwyn and Jon Bernthal also make appearances as tennis coaches Paul Cohen and Rick Macci. King Richard is coming to cinemas on November 19.
