Following the cinematic revival of Stephen King’s IT franchise back in 2017, a grinning face of fear rose from the sewers of Derry and besieged audiences around the world with a series of spine-tingling antics. This September, the second chapter of Pennywise’s reemergence finds the wicked force once again wreaking havoc upon the town and hungering for a rematch with those who dealt the dancing clown defeat years ago.

After departing from their childhood home following the events of Chapter One, The Losers’ Club receive a startling message and must return to where it all began. Can they bring an end to Pennywise once and for all?

Alongside the much-loved original cast, a star-studded line-up has joined the franchise to portray The Losers’ Club adult incarnations. Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader are just three of the names signed up for Pennywise’s next chilling performance.

Liberally splattered with shocking set pieces, insidious scares, and revelatory moments, IT Chapter Two looks set to be a fitting finale to the eerie events that have plagued generations. However, before it ends, you’ll have to float again.

From Page To Screen

Given IT’s celebrated literary origins, it only makes sense that even more of Stephen King’s prose should rise to the surface for the second instalment of the franchise. Trailers have hinted at a selection of King’s most iconic and controversial scenes taking shape on the big screen. From the reintroduction of long-lost characters, to an infamous moment featuring otherworldly fortune cookies, to a deeply unsettling glimpse into Pennywise’s origins, King’s signature is perhaps clearer than ever upon the film’s content. Easter eggs have also hinted at the arrival of Maturin the Turtle, a benevolent godlike creature who may well prove pivotal in the fight against IT, while hinting at the inclusion of the author’s wider universe being folded into the story.
