Having already put their differences aside in the first look trailer, the latest trailer gives us another taste of the banter the best frenemies share now they’ve swapped punches for punchlines but also sets out to prove Hobbs and Shaw can match hilarity with horsepower in the fight to stop Idris Elba’s Brixton. Along with Vanessa Kirby’s beautiful and fearless rogue agent, who happens to be Shaw’s sister, the unlikely trio set out to save the world on a tour that takes them from Los Angeles to London and Chernobyl to Samoa. Hobbs’ homecoming is at the centre of the trailer that promises to pay homage to Dwayne Johnson’s heritage in true Fast & Furious style as the hulking lawman joins his Polynesian brothers in a laying a Samoan smackdown on Brixton and his goons. After all, Fast & Furious is all about family. If it was still in doubt that this was a Fast & Furious film then the all-action trailer certainly delivers a firm reminder that this spin-off is fast and furious enough to keep up by teasing a bicep-bursting final sequence that sees Hobbs giving Captain America a run for his money by single-handedly keeping a helicopter connected to a convoy of custom vehicles driven by Shaw.
