Wakanda mourns a massive loss. Its king and current Black Panther, T’Challa, has tragically died. His mother, Queen Ramonda, is forced to take over the reins of the kingdom and lead everyone through uncertain and muddy waters, from which a powerful new force emerges, threatening to destroy everything the great nation stands for.

From the underwater realm of Talocan, its ruler Namor rises to challenge Wakanda. However, the powerful Aztec warrior, played by newcomer Tenoch Huerta, isn’t the only new face to the MCU.  Dominque Thorne also joins the cast as Ironheart, a superhero with a suit that could rival Iron Man’s.

Many fan favourites also return, such as Winston Duke’s Lord M’Baku, the leader of the Jabari tribe; Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, T’Challa’s old flame and fearsome War Dog; and Letitia Wright’s Shuri, T’Challa’s sister and super-smart scientist – all of whom are worthy successors to take the mantle of Black Panther.

Black Panther was a cultural phenomenon that broke box-office records and stood out from the crowd as a celebration of African culture. The sequel looks to be no different, but also an epic and emotional love letter to the franchise’s late star Chadwick Boseman.

Get set for another vibranium-fuelled adventure that’s set to end Phase Four with a bang.
