Humanity is history in the trailer for the fourth film in the rebooted Apes franchise.
The first three films in the rebooted Planet Of The Apes franchise centre on the rise of the apes as they evolved to equal humans, but this fourth entry – just as rich in visual effects – is the first where humanity has been replaced at the top of the food chain. Set several years after the events of War For The Planet Of The Apes, apes are now the dominant species on Earth and what remains of the humans are forced to hide in the shadows. Taking the action to a time long after Caesar’s rule, the trailer introduces a new hero, a bright, young ape who seeks to find his place in the world and an explanation for his connection to the past while under the tyrannical rule of a new leader. Welcome to the Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, in cinemas May 9.
