It’s all change at DC, but before James Gunn resets the cinematic universe, the long-awaited Flash film is coming to cinemas and an all-new look at the DC character’s first standalone feature suggests we’re in for quite the ride. The trailer sees Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen setting out to do what Bruce Wayne never could: prevent the tragic death of a parent. The fantastic first look at the film saw Barry ignore warnings from his mentor, Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, and push his powers to the limits to travel through time to stop his mother’s death, but encounter his past self and inadvertently set in motion a chain of events that breaks the timelines. The new trailer is set in the aftermath of that action as the Barrys desperately seeks to undo the damage now trapped in an alternate world with no one to help defend it from the invading General Zod. There’s one hero who can help as we’re treated to more of Michael Keaton’s much-anticipated return as the Caped Crusader from the late eighties/early nineties classics, complete with retro Batsuits, his classic Batcave, and plenty of ways to beat up bad guys. There’s even a better look at the Batwing in action, too. But two Barrys and one Batman isn’t enough to defend the world, restore the universe, and save the future. Fortunately, Sasha Calle’s Kara Zor-El completes the superhero team and the trailer showcases more of this super girl’s incredible Kryptonian powers. Past meets present and worlds collide in The Flash, speeding into cinemas June 14.
