A continuation of the story that started over twenty years ago is set to arrive in cinemas just in time for Halloween. From celebrated horror producer Blumhouse comes a sequel/reboot of the 1996 cult film starring Neve Campbell. The trailer introduces us to Hannah, a lonely teenager trying to find her place in a new town. Things get off to a terrible start when she’s humiliated in front of her whole class and flees to the toilets, but it’s there where her life will change forever. She’s approached by three kind-hearted girls who offer support and invite her over to one of their homes after school. Once there, they conduct a ceremony to celebrate her, but after she develops powers, she realises that her new friends are a coven of witches that she is now a part of. As a seriously sinister version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun kicks in, the girls begin to experiment with their powers, using them to get their own back on the bullies, which is when things start to go very wrong. The trailer showcases the cast led by exciting young stars Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna as the quartet of witches, and also featuring Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny, who is certainly no stranger to the supernatural. Keen-eyed fans might spot a photo of Fairuza Balk, who played central character Nancy in the original, confirming that the new film is set in the same world and will feature many callbacks to The Craft.
