We're introduced to Colin Firth's Sam and Stanley Tucci's Tusker, a couple who have been together for decades, as they set off in their motorhome to travel across the UK visiting family and friends. What at first seems like a run of the mill road movie with silly hijinks, surprises, and tenderness transforms in one breathtaking moment into a devastating drama when Tusker reveals that he's living with young onset dementia, and their cross country trip is something of a farewell tour before the people he loves are lost from his memory. The two veteran stars are on fine form in a heartwrenching trailer that showcases their powerhouse performances as the star-crossed couple. From writer director Harry Macqueen and the award-winning producers of 45 Years comes another careful yet crushing examination of love and loss. Supernova will celebrate its World Premiere at San Sebastián International Film Festival this September and is currently set to arrive in UK cinemas on November 27.
