From the producers of the Jump Street, LEGO, and Spider-Verse films, Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar director Josh Greenbaum, and American Vandal writer Dan Perrault comes a totally different breed of dog movie that reveals the sweary and sordid secret lives of our pets. The trailer introduces Will Ferrell’s Reggie, a naïve and relentlessly optimistic Border Terrier who doesn’t understand how mean his lowlife owner Doug is. When he meets a streetwise Boston Terrier named Bug, voiced by Jamie Foxx, his eyes are opened to the joys of life without a leash and just how toxic his relationship with Doug was. Now, he wants revenge…doggy style. Teaming up with two other strays, an Australian Shepherd sidelined by her owner’s new puppy and a nervous Great Dane who’s stressed by his role as an emotional support animal, they embark on an epic, Homeward Bound-style journey, but this time to prove their bite is much, much worse than their bark. Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx are joined by Isla Fisher and Randall Park as the voices of Maggie and Hunter respectively, as well as Will Forte as Doug. But that’s not all, the film boasts a powerhouse comedy cast that also includes Josh Gad, Harvey Guillén, Rob Riggle, Brett Gelman, Jamie Demetriou, and Sofia Vergara. Strays will be unleashed in cinemas August 18.
