The teaser introduced Raya as she set out to track down Kumandra’s sole remaining dragon in order to save her kingdom. Now, the full trailer sees our heroine finally track down the elusive Sisu after six years of searching, but the dragon is far from what she expected. Voiced by Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina, the water dragon isn’t the almighty being legend spoke of, instead a self-proclaimed klutz, clearly lacking in self-confidence, and constantly surprising herself with her wild magic powers. It’s certainly going to take more than just Raya and The Last Dragon to save all of Kumandra. The new trailer sees Raya assemble a crew of warriors and con-artists from all corners of Kumandra to join her quest. There’s Little Noi, the cutest “con baby” you could ever imagine, and her monkey partners in crime the Ongis; Tong, Boun, a talented ten-year-old with plenty of tricks up his sleeve; and Tong, a giant one-eyed warrior voiced by Benedict Wong. This team of heroes must rely on trust and team work to save the world, especially after they discover that they aren’t the only ones looking for the last dragon. Their epic quest will put them on a collision course with Raya’s nemesis Namaari, voiced by Gemma Chan, who has her own evil plans for the dragon. Rounding out the voice cast are Alan Tudyk as Raya’s friend and trusty steed Tuk Tuk; Daniel Dae Kim as Raya’s wise father, Benja; Sandra Oh as Namaari’s powerful mother, Virana; Lucille Soong as Leader of the Talon; Patti Harrison as the leader of the Tail; and Ross Butler as Leader of the Spine. Raya And The Last Dragon is currently set for a concrurrent release in cinemas where possible and on Disney+ Premier Access on March 5.
