Locked Down Trailer

Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor plot a daring diamond heist in the trailer for Doug Liman’s lockdown caper

Everyone has their own way of coping with quarantine, but breaking the boredom by stealing jewellery from one of the most glamorous shops in the world is the most original yet. That’s precisely what Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor are planning in the new coronavirus-era caper from Mr & Mrs Smith director Doug Liman. The two actors star as Linda and Paxton, a couple living together London who are forced into isolation during the pandemic and struggling to cope without an escape from their cohabitation. With Paxton having lost his purpose as he faces furlough and Linda wrestling with work from home, what was once love is at risk of becoming loathing as they teeter on the edge of separation. But instead of breaking up, they decide to break bad and set out to steal three million pounds of diamonds from Harrods to save their relationship. Doug Liman directs from a script penned by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight a rom-com/heist movie hybrid that boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Stephen Merchant, Mindy Kaling, Ben Stiller, Lucy Boynton, Jazmyn Simon, and Ben Kingsley. Its original March release may now look all too optimistic, but we can hopefully still expect to see Locked Down in cinemas at some point in 2021.
