The trailer opens on a seemingly ordinary family holiday in a quiet cabin in the words, before the tone shifts to something much more sinister when strangers emerge from the trees and approach the young daughter. Locked inside their cabin, the family finds four armed strangers on their doorstep and no idea why they’re being targeted. After their assailants break in, they learn the terrifying reason: they are the latest in a long line of families who have been chosen to make a horrible choice in order to stop the world from ending. To add to the tension, they are shown footage of apocalyptic events that are apparently occurring across the world while they deconstruct the ultimatum that they have been presented and decide whether they will save their family or save all of humanity. Will they sacrifice their family to save the rest of the world? Is there another solution? Or is there something else entirely still to be revealed? It’s another peculiar, puzzling, yet fascinating horror premise and a typically mysterious tease that conjures more questions than answers for the new film from the visionary mind behind The Sixth Sense, Split, and Old. M. Night Shyamalan writes, directs, and produces his fifteenth feature film and assembles a cast as enticing as its premise that includes Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, and newcomer Kristen Cui as the unsuspecting family with Dave Bautista, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abby Quinn, and Rupert Grint as their captors. M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock At The Cabin comes to cinemas February 3.
