From director Rian Johnson comes an intriguing, despicable, and downright deadly tale filled with murder, intrigue, and highly dysfunctional family values. Boasting a star-studded ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Toni Collette, Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer, Knives Out chronicles a turbulent escape to a grandiose country estate.

After the sudden death of famed crime novelist, Harlan Thrombey, detectives journey to his mansion to get to the bottom of his untimely demise. Heading up the investigation...Detective Benoit Blanc. The suave and seemingly infallible investigative force is tasked with uncovering the many motives the Thrombey family may well have possessed to dispatch of their patriarch. Money problems, affairs, and costly professional conflicts are but a few of the seedy secrets set to rise to the surface as the infamous Blanc begins to shake the fragile branches of the family tree.

With such a twisted web to untangle, a cast offering serious strength in numbers, and a script concocted with equal measures of menace and wit, expect to find yourself on edge all the way up until Knives Out’s big reveal.

A Mysterious Past

Before Rian Johnson revealed the fate of The Last Jedi, he was no stranger to mystery.

Brick (2005)

A slick slice of neo-noir starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Riddled with secrecy and set against the backdrop of a California high school, Brick’s sombre and otherworldly narrative established Johnson as one of cinema’s most exciting up-and-coming voices.

The Brothers Bloom (2008)

Adrian Brody, Mark Ruffalo, and Rachel Weisz teamed up for a criminally underrated crime caper following a pair of con men and their hapless attempts to turn their backs on their swindling ways.

Looper (2012)

Johnson reunited with Levitt for his sci-fi smash Looper. A thrilling, thought-provoking time-travelling flick, the picture became a critical darling and took $176.5 million at the box office – an impressive feat given it cost only $30 million to make!
