Joker: Folie À Deux Trailer
Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker finds someone who puts a smile on his face in the trailer for the forthcoming sequel.
The trailer sees Joaquin Phoenix return to his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck aka the Joker, but quite a lot has changed since the smash-hit of 2019. Following the events of the first film, where social and romantic rejection meets mental decline and sends an aspiring comic and clown into murderous madness, Arthur is now behind bars at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum. But, funnily enough, it’s here where he meets his one true love, Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn. Charting how their one-of-a-kind relationship blossoms, the trailer teases the key role music will play in Todd Phillips’ sequel, not only in bringing a new dimension to Arthur’s warped reality as a wannabe performer, but also the film itself which sets itself as a musical. The stage is set for Joker: Folie À Deux, coming to cinemas October 4.
