Having already faced a delay that saw it shift from its original May release, Blithe Spirit was set to finally arrive in cinemas on Boxing Day, but the new comedy starring Dan Stevens, Judi Dench, Isla Fisher, and Leslie Mann will now debut early next year. Based on Noel Coward’s classic stage comedy, the film follows a best-selling novelist who attempts to cure his writer’s block by inviting a medium into his home. But when she accidentally summons the spirit of his deceased first wife, he finds himself caught in an increasingly comical love triangle with his resurrected first wife and living second wife.  Following the same path as the recent magical adaptation of The Secret Garden, Blithe Spirit becomes the latest Studiocanal title to see its distribution rights go to Sky. Now under their banner as a Sky Original, this fiery and funny comedy will arrive in cinemas and on Sky Cinema simultaneously to clear any winter blues on January 15.
