The writer-director of Sinister and Doctor Strange returns to his terror roots with a new horror that follows a thirteen-year-old boy, Finney Shaw, who's abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in his basement. When a disconnected phone on the wall rings, Finney answers and discovers that he can hear the killer's previous victims, and they're dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn't happen to Finney.
