R. M. Renfield has one of the toughest jobs of all time. The human personal assistant to Count Dracula has spent more than a lifetime at his demanding and bloodthirsty boss’ beck and call, luring countless innocent victims to their demise. With so much blood on his hands, it’s all clearly become too much for Nicholas Hoult’s Renfield when he turns up to group therapy in downtown New York. His story at first seems farfetched, until Nicolas Cage’s Dracula apparates onto the scene to prove this narcissistic nightmare is very real.

With his master on the prowl and now aware his servant wants out, Renfield must battle inner and outer demons in his quest for redemption and a normal life.

A chance meeting with Awkwafina’s Rebecca Quincy, a local beat cop who he saves from certain death, offers a new lease on life, potential romance, and even a possible new career path. However, when all you’ve got on your CV since 1897 is “vampire’s assistant” then switching to an ordinary job is going to be a problem. Even more so considering the small matter of the superhuman powers Renfield is keeping off his record.

Let’s be clear, this notice period is going to be a fun one.
